I admit I said it earlier during my first pregnancy. I didn't look high and low nor river deep for cheap, but good quality ones and straight away decided on the easy high road, which is Disposable Diaper.
And then Yuni was born with the amazing weight of 3.97kg. We only get to use S size for 1 month and we had to change to M size. During my confinement month, it was quite a bliss... since most of our disposable diapers were sponsored by relatives and friends *thank you dear friends*
Once the presents reside, there comes the reality of disposable diaper....
The cheapest of the diaper is BabyLike, in terms of price. However, if you look carefully and calculate the price per piece, its about RM0.38/pc. Good quality disposable diaper like MamaPoko, Huggies etc may price up to RM0.80/pc. We tried to become cheapskates and bought her cheap ones... but it only resulted to more work due to leaking and worst of all skin rashes.
Of course, Yuni is now 2.5years old and we are already potty training her.
But, hey.. I'm pregnant!
I am definitely changing to cloth diaper!
Since I made my own calculation of savings I could have made ever since Yuni was born.
RM0.38/pc x 8pc/day x 180days (up to 6 months) = RM547.20
RM0.45/pc x 6pc/day x 730days (6 month till now) = RM1,971.00
Total diaper money on Yuni (up until 2.5years old) = RM2,518.20
Please also remember that I had to go from Mydin->Carrefour->Tesco->Giant->Billion, Manjung(yg ni sbb balik kampung) to survey on which store had better price every time we need to restock the diaper.
No, I'm not going to go through this trouble again with the new baby coming. When I can choose an option which only needs me to worry(bukan worry sgt pon) 1 time before going into labour and relax from thinking about "diaper budgets" the whole baby's growth years.
